After you submit your FAFSA, you will receive a SAR – a Student Aid Report. You should receive your SAR within five days of an electronic submission or within two to three weeks of a paper submission. You'll need to review your SAR, which will include eligibility comments and make any necessary corrections. It's important to understand that the federal government will review your FAFSA and then send it to the schools (whose school codes you have written on your FAFSA application) to determine the amount of aid for which you are eligible. The financial aid office of your selected institution(s) will then issue you a financial aid award notification.
